November 2017 Newsletter

Give Thanks.

The month of November reminds me of all the things in my life that I am truly thankful for and for those people I hold close to my heart.  At The Little Lamb, we feel especially thankful for our families who entrust us with their most treasured possession, their child.  For that, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  Take time this month to tell your loved ones how very important they are to you and how much you love them.
Special thanks to our families that brought in treats and joined us at our Harvest Parties and Parade.  It was a great success thanks to you.  Also, congratulations to our winners of the Best Dressed Family at our Harvest Party:
1st place:  The Storey Family
2nd Place:  The Vauter Family
Remember that my door is always open, we consider it a privilege to have your children in our care and we look forward to seeing their smiling faces every day.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Food Drive
We will be doing a food drive for families in need through the Amanda Strong program. There will be tubs at the entrance for you to drop off your items. They are in need of canned meats, canned fruit, soup, cereals and peanut butter. The deadline will be November 30thth. What a valuable lesson our children can learn by giving to people in need!  For older children, consider taking your child with you to the supermarket/store and let them pick out the food or even simply have your child pick a can or two from your pantry.  Please make sure the food is not expired.  Helping those in need opens up great discussions about thankfulness, blessings, sharing, etc. Discuss with your child the blessings your family has and what you are thankful for. For more information on the Amanda Strong program go to http://amandastrong.org .
We hope all of our November birthdays have an extra special day filled with lots of love and laughter!

Stone Soup Lunch
November 17th is our annual Stone Soup Thanksgiving luncheon at 11:00.  We hope that you will consider joining us for this event.  Please let us know if you will be attending, there will be a sign up on the front counter.  The teachers will be reading the award winning children’s book, Stone Soup, to the classes.  In this book, many people come together to make a delicious soup simply by combining the single ingredient they each have. We would like each child to bring in a canned vegetable to put in our soup.  Any extra cans will be donated towards the food drive.  The children always enjoy eating the hearty soup and making sure there aren’t any stones in the soup!  On this day we celebrate Thanksgiving as a school with many games, crafts and festivities.

Thanksgiving Day
We know that many Little Lamb families travel during the week of Thanksgiving. Please let us know what days your child will be attending for the week of Thanksgiving so that we can schedule staff accordingly. We will have a form for you to fill out on the counter at the office. Remember, we are closed November 23rd and 24th. Tuition for that week remains the same.
