Congratulations to Emily Name on being our December 2019 Teacher Spotlight! Emily started out as a part-time assistant with us and is now the full-time assistant in our Kitties classroom. We are so blessed to her on our team!
When did you start working at LLCS?: August 2015
How long have you been working with children? Tell us about your background: “I’ve been babysitting since I was 16 and was a teacher’s aid in high school. I also completed over 1,000 hours of student teaching as part of my elementary education degree.”
Education: “I graduated from IU Kokomo in May of 2019 with my Elementary Education degree.”
Tell us about your family: “My wonderful parents are John and Kate Name, I blessed to have two older half siblings and four nieces and two nephews.”
Hobbies: “I enjoy all things Disney and fantasy movies. I enjoy Renaissance Fairs and dressing in time period clothes.”
Favorite Candy: “Almond Joys, Pixie sticks or Chewy Sweet tart Minis.”
Favorite Movie: “Princess Bride, Little Mermaid”
Favorite Music: “Irish Traditional, Celtic Woman”
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you: “My favorite sport is jousting.”
Why do you love to work with young children? “Because it’s so rewarding to see their faces light up when they succeed at something they’ve been working at or learn something new. The daily interaction is rewarding, challenging and fun, in a way that is unlike other jobs. Knowing them and the children knowing you is fulfilling to your spirit.”
What do you enjoy most about working at LLCS? “The Christian environment with fellow like-minded teachers and superiors is a blessing.”
Favorite Bible verse: Numbers 6:24-26, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”
