Curriculum

The Little Lamb is a non-denominational, locally owned and operated daycare and preschool. All children from both churched and un-churched backgrounds are welcome.

The heart of The Little Lamb as it continues it’s mission today is the story from Matthew, chapter 18, verses 12-14 where the shepherd leaves the 99 sheep in the desert to search for the one little lamb that is lost. The A Beka curriculum recognized by Christian educators nationally, enriched with stories and verses from the Bible, is the basis of growth for the whole child.

The A Beka curriculum is based on the work of Dr. Arlin and Beka Horton outstanding leaders in the Christian school movement since 1954. Beka Horton has played the leading role in the development of the academic program available from A Beka Book. She has faithfully invested her multiple talents to give balance and excellence to all areas of the Christian school curriculum. She personally edits many of the materials.

A Beka Book textbooks, curriculums, and materials are based on results from reliable studies for traditional best practices (as opposed to a theoretical, experimental approach) and are validated by the measured success of thousands of students over decades of time.

The educational approach is founded on Biblical principles that address the nature of the learner and learning, the nature of truth and authority, and what is important to learn and know.
