7 Days of Praying for your Children

prayerpicPrayer is one of the most powerful tools in the hypothetical parenting toolbox. But, sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin.  As parents, we have so many concerns, fears, and anxieties about our children’s future, but God tells us not be worriers.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matt 6:25-27 NIV

Here’s a list of biblical ideas to help guide you as you pray for your children.  We love this list because it gives Bible references for each prayer.

Pray that they will know Christ as Savior early in life. (Psalm 63:1 & 2 Timothy 3:15)
That they will have hatred for sin and evil. (Psalm 97:10)

That they will be protected from evil in every area of their lives: spiritual, emotional, physical, etc. (Luke 2:52)
